Our Story

More than upcycling.

Moement is a social enterprise built on a belief that what we no longer need can become something beautiful again — and that the things we love deserve to be loved again, and again, and again.

We transform preloved and discarded textiles into timeless, meaningful pieces.

Pieces that carry stories, preserve memories, and bring comfort into everyday life. Not as a novelty, and not as a craft project — as a serious, careful approach to making things that last.

Our approach is rooted in creativity, circularity, and the belief that what we no longer need can become something beautiful again. We make the most of every garment, repurposing usable fabric and exploring new uses for textile scraps that might otherwise go to waste.

More than upcycling, Moement is about giving materials, memories, and possibilities a second life.

Meet the founder

Meet Moe, the heart behind Moement. 🤎

I’m Moe, and Moement is my way of turning a personal dream into meaningful impact.

Where the name comes from

Moemy nickname
momentthis is my moment to create

The name combines my nickname, Moe, with moment — a reminder that this is my moment to create, and contribute something valuable to the world.

I believe the clothes we hold onto carry pieces of our lives: childhood memories, milestones, people we love, and moments we never want to forget. When those clothes can no longer be worn, their stories don’t have to end.

Through Moement, I’m building a social enterprise that gives loved garments and discarded textiles a new purpose through thoughtful design and creative upcycling.

My vision is to make textile waste a resource, create beautiful and useful products, and contribute to a more circular future where less is wasted and more is valued.

This journey is about more than making things. It’s about building something meaningful, one garment, one creation, and one Moement at a time.

How it came together

  1. It started with the things people could not let go of

Moement began from a simple observation: the garments people find hardest to part with are rarely the most expensive ones. They are the ones that hold something — a first year, a last winter, a person. Discarding them felt like a waste of more than fabric.

  2. So we started making from them instead

Golden Moements grew from there. Garments are unpicked and rebuilt by hand into memory quilts, bags and bibs — pieces designed to be used, not stored away in a cupboard for safekeeping.

  3. And then we looked at what was left over

Making beautiful things from loved clothes produces offcuts. Rather than treat those as waste, Everyday Moements was formed to ask what the remaining fabric could still become — throw pillows, floor cushions, and more as the material allows.

  4. Circularity as a working practice, not a slogan

Usable fabric is used. Scraps are collected, pieced and explored for other purposes. Very little leaves the studio unused. That is the operating principle, and it shapes every decision we make about a commission.

What we believe

Circular by design

We work from materials that already exist. Nothing new is manufactured when something loved can be given another life.

Made by hand

Every piece is cut, pieced and finished by hand. Small batches, real attention, and no two pieces ever quite the same.

Memory kept

A garment holds more than fabric. We treat the things you send us as though they matter — because they do.

Nothing wasted

Usable fabric is used. Scraps are collected and explored for new purposes. Very little leaves the studio unused.

Circularity

A garment is a resource, not a bin liner.

The textiles industry produces enormous volumes of unwanted fabric, and a great deal of it is still entirely usable. Meanwhile, the pieces people treasure most are the ones most likely to be thrown away when they stop being wearable.

Moement works in the space between those two facts. We take material that would otherwise be discarded and give it a purpose worth keeping — which is also the most practical form of reuse there is.
